no posts for a bit...

I'm so sad. The reader I use to upload my pictures to my computer is broken into about 4 peices, so no uploading pics for a while, unless I get a new memory card reader here soon. Which I hope I do...

Ugh, I'm so bummed.

Day 25 - under the exersaucer.

Zane was being - what else? - a total monkey and climbed underneath Andrew's exersaucer to get a ball this afternoon. What followed was a genius series of pictures:

"Yuuuuuup, looks like you got a bad alternator up in there. I can fix it; but it'll cost ya...."

This one is my favorite. By far.

day 24 - a slacker in our midst.

No picture today - forgot my camera. :(

But the big news of the day....

Zane took 2 steps!!

And I missed them. :( I was at work! I wish Jesse had got the camera but he was just so excited! He called me at work directly after.

Zane being so mobile sort of makes me miss these days:

Day 23 - insert creative title here.

Not many chances to get cute pics today, so may I present Zane finishing off his dinner bottle.

He can hold his own bottle, but generally likes for me to feed him. He's lazy - especially when I know he can drink from his own sippy... sneaky monkey.

Day 22 - why do I buy toys again?

Tonight we were at our friend's house for a cookout, where Zane and his friends AKF and Wills played and the adults sipped wine and ate delicious, delicious food.

Of course, the box proved to be more interesting the all the toys and books lying around...

I'm still not sure why I buy toys. The packaging, perhaps?

Day 21 - the couscous strikes back.

I wasn't here for this, but apparently Zane thought it would be the height of hilarity to pull a captain adorable while eating dinner.

Annnnnd, this is the result:

Daddy assures me he had his bath right afterwards. :)

Day 20 - what's for dinner?

A delicious combonation of zuchinni, summer squash and tomatoes over couscous and sprinkled with cheese. (I call it baby ratatouille.)

My son eats better than I do.

How to eat like a 11 month old:

Step one:

Pick up food and squish it with your whole hand. If it oozes out the sides, proceed to step 2.

Step 2:

Shove food in mouth. Disregard any fallen bits; mommy and daddy will pick those up later.

Step 3:

Get distracted by dog.

Step 4:

Survery the situation.

Step 5:

Repeat.

High five! Anyone? Anyone?

Day 19 - curls, curls everywhere.

Day 17 - fooling around.

I was just messing around with the camera today, and got some cute shots...

He is looking ridiculously old in this picture. It's hard to believe, but he is looking more and more like a little boy instead of a baby. I just can't take it.

Nyahhh! He likes sticking his tongue out at me - just as long as it's not covered with food, I'm totally down with it. :)

Day 16 - fun at Aunt Becky's!

We visited my sister today! Zane loves his Aunt Becky!

day 15 - falling down on the job.

I didn't get a picture today - I saw my sweet baby boy a total of 20 minutes today. :( When I woke up, he was getting ready for his AM nap; then after his nap his Nana and Papa whisked him away. I worked from 2-8:45 and by the time I got home he was sleeping. Boo.

But here's a picture from way back when, because I'm feeling nostalgic.

day 14 - a little light reading.

Or a little light chewing, whichever you prefer.

He is not so much into reading them as he is figuring them out. How to open them, how to flip the pages, etc.

Also, I love the way this kid sits. If he's into something or playing with his toys, his legs are always folded back. Or, one is outstretched and the other is folded back.

My kid is something special... ;)

day 13 - put your hands in the air!

Like you just don't care!

He does this new thing when he eats and plays, he'll raise his arms above his head. Usually when he does this, I like to shout, "It's Captain Adorable!!" and he gets the giggles.

And of course, like a true Knowlton, he's a social eater.

day 12...

So I was going to post some pictures of cranky!Zane, since we did NOT have a good day today, but Jesse took way better pictures while I was at work.

Day 11 - attack of the giggle gun!

Day 10, fun at the pool!

I am in love with today's pictures.

We went to a friend's house and played in her baby pool. Zane splashed and giggled with his buddies, and I got some adorable pictures.

Day 9 - joining in on the fun.

On the bright side of my plethora of camera woes, Zane has a variety of broken cameras to chew on play with.

Day 8 - nom nom nom!

As Zane is 10 months old, I recently started to give him finger foods for dinner. Egg noodles with carrots and cheese is a big hit at my house, so I decided this week to bump it up a notch and see if he likes chicken. So on Thursday I baked a chicken breast, 1/2 sweet potato and an apple together and chopped it up into Zane sized pieces.

He's still getting used to it, and I can't blame him - I imagine it's hard to eat chicken with 4 teeth!

But he sure is cute when he tries.

Still a little unsure.
