day 59 - Happy birthday, little man...

Today was monkey's birthday... I can't believe he's a year old already!

.... ok, I will edit this post tomorrow. The pictures are taking FOREVER to load and I'm going to bed.

Day 54 - playing pretend.

We were over at our friend Micah's house for a playdate today, and Zane was enthralled with his push-shopping cart. Especially the eggs.

He just looks so old in this picture. minus the MASSIVE amounts of drool on his shirt - I think he's getting new teefers.

Day 53 - i'm not entirely sure...

... but i'm guessing someone was fussy while I was at work.

Either that or he found his paci lying around, and stuck it in his mouth. I'm working on that one...

Day 52 - block master.

These are really the only 2 pictures I like out of the whole series of pictures I took yesterday night.

I like how you can tell he's mischevious even behind his box.

Oh, and right after this picture? My batteries went dead, and he walked straight to me!

Intermission.

The next couple of days I will probably be slacking with updates and posts. I am so consumed with making this slideshow for Zane's party, and the fact that I can't correctly get either Windows Movie Maker OR Windows DVD Maker to correctly line up and play songs in my slideshow is so very, very frustrating. As much as I love this blog, I really just want to pull my hair out and go to bed. The last thing I want to be doing is updating.

Day 51 - picnicing

I took so many cute pictures today while the BOAers and I were picnicing outside of Steve and Katie's apartment... I really can't decide on which ones I like the best.

I hate that his eyes aren't open in this shot, the smile is to die for!

Day 50 - Leftover spaghetti is really good!

Last night was spaghetti night at the Hooven house... which meant that it was spaghetti night for Zane tonight!

It's everywhere!!

day 49 - bedhead

I swear his hair was not like this when he went down for his nap this morning, but this is how I found him when he woke up:

and no amount of hair brushing would put it flat the rest of the day. 90% humidity didn't help any, either!

Day 48 - YOUR COUCH COME SUNDAY.

One of my best friends, whom I've known since 7th grade, is leaving next Thursday to teach Engligh to kids in Korea for a year. So Zane and I went down to Durham to have one last dinner with Miss Ali before she left...

Hammin it up with Miss Ali... look how cute they are! Apparently Zane is the only baby who doesn't cry when she holds him. :)

If you're wondering what that brown thing is, he's in his Moby Wrap, chillin in the hip hold. Best $40 I've ever spent.

Day 47 - Zane v. the paper towel

Day 46 - Just like daddy, continued.

For the record, I think the is the ugliest hat Jesse owns.

Zane doesn't seem to mind, though!

I actually think this kid is going to grow up with a complex - Jesse plays with him, and puts everything from blocks to the bumbo on his head and says, "Zane, hat!" I'm not sure what sort of damage we're causing here.

Day 45 - Just like daddy.

So Jesse was eating peanut butter off a spoon, and didn't even notice that Zane had picked up one of his spoons and started playing with it... These two are just alike, I swear.

Is he not the cutest baby ever??

Day 44 - Where's Zane?

there he is!

He loves standing and crawling in his bumbo seat... It's more of an obstacle course for him now than something to sit in like it was when he was younger. He also LOVES playing "Where's Zane?" - he will cover his own head with a blanket and laugh like crazy when you "find him".

Day 43 - I'm back!!

Ok. Good camera? Check. Working memory card reader (that's not in a million pieces)? Check.

Crazy monkey of a son? Double check.
